Mace and Palpatine: The Force is strong with Star Wars: The Force Awakens

TFA trailer2-1

Marvel’s Epic news

It’s the 8th day of 2015 and it’s already impossible to imagine how long we’d have to wait for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And that much talked about lightsaber.

Thankfully, you’re not the only one who’s feeling the anxiety. For the less patient among us (watch out for the Dark Side), Marvel has announced two new trade paperbacks, Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The New Republic Vol 1 and Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Old Republic Vol. 1.

According to starwars.com, the New Republic Vol. 1 continues the timeline after Darth Vader throws the Emperor into the Death Star’s reactor shaft. Three story arcs in collection revolve around the Emperor’s Hand, Mara Jade, seeking revenge for the Sith Lord; an android assassin who struggles for humanity after losing her master; and bounty hunter Boba Fett coming back from the dead. Has the famed Mandalorian returned from the dead, or is this just an imposter?

Since the plot of The Force Awakens is still up for debate, could Daisy Ridley’s character – last seen riding away on a giant popsicle – really be Mara Jade? Would JJ Abrams continue the storyline from the comics or is she Han and Leia’s daughter as speculated? What do you think?
